You are eligible for the Missouri A2A program if you are a pregnant woman who:
– Wants to carry your unborn child to term instead of having an abortion
– Is a United States resident who lives in Missouri
– Makes less than 185% of the federal poverty level based on your latest tax filing
The main types of adoption include:
Open Adoption
In an open adoption, you can spend time getting to know a prospective adoptive family before you choose them. Once you have chosen an adoptive family, you will have as much contact with them as you desire. This could look like in-person visits, emails, phone calls, or video calls. You get to choose the type of communication and frequency.
Semi-Open Adoption
With semi-open adoption, there is still communication between you and the adoptive family, but it is usually mediated by a third party (like the adoption agency). There are typically no in-person visits with this option, and the adoptive family will also know less about you (unless you choose to give them information about yourself).
Closed Adoption
This is the most private option.
In a closed adoption, you and the adoptive family will have no contact. The adoptive family will not know anything about you (except for basic medical information, in most cases), and you will not receive any updates or communication. This allows you to remain anonymous.
